How to replace sensor batteries

Monnit sensors are battery powered; therefore you may need to replace their batteries after a while. This guide will instruct you on how to replace the batteries for your sensors.

Before you begin

So that you follow the correct set of instructions, please see which type of sensor you have below and what you’ll need to replace each type of sensor.

Monnit Industrial Sensor

• Phillips head screwdriver
• 1 x 3.6V AA battery

Monnit Commercial Sensor

• Phillips head screwdriver
• 2 x Alkaline (regular) AA batteries

Replace sensor batteries

Monnit Industrial and Commercial

1. Dismount the sensor.
2. Turn the sensor off.
3. Unscrew the battery cover.
4. Replace the batteries.
5. Screw the battery cover back on.
6. Switch the sensor back on.
7. Re-mount the sensor in its location.
