How To Set Up Sensor Action Alerts
This resource will explain the various sensor alert configurations and will provide you with a guideline on how to set up various types of alerts on the desktop and mobile app.
Before you begin
Make sure that you have completed the iMonnit sensor self-installation guide.
Alert configuration options
While it depends on the different type of sensor you have, it may be possible to configure multiple alerts per sensor. A user or recipient of an alert will receive a notification when an alert is triggered. If no action is taken another alert will be triggered and sent an hour later, and so on until the alert is turned off or the situation is rectified
Alert Type:
- Above the alert threshold
- Below the alert threshold
- Trigger an alert when a duration (time) exceeds a set parameter (time)
- Send notifications to users via SMS or email
Notification Types:
- Disconnected: Sends a notification if the device is offline for more than 30 minutes.
- Low battery: Sends a notification when the device battery level is low.
- Send notification to: The users and groups, mobile phone numbers, and email addresses to receive notifications.
Set up a sensor alert
1. Log into your iMonnit Online account.
2. Click the Actions tab in the left-hand sidebar.
3. Click the + Add Action button toward the top right of the page.
4. Add an Action “Trigger” (and make additional elections such as Sensor Type if necessary)
5. Click Save.
6. Select the Action to be performed (for the purpose of this article, a Notification Action will be selected).
7. Complete the Notification Settings configuration.
8. Select any required recipients of the notification.
9. Set a delay if so desired.
10. Click the ‘Continue’ button.
11. Name the ‘Action’.
12. **Important** Select the Action Sensors.
13. Click the Finish button.
